PRICING POLICY
Project
costs are determined by developing an estimate of the number of hours it will take to complete a project. The estimated
hours are determined by talking with the client regarding the details of the project and then making an educated guess about
the number of hours it will take me to complete the project.
The estimated
total hours multiplied by the hourly fee determines the estimated project fee. This fee is only an estimate. The actual
project fee can only be determined after the project is completed and the actual hours of work have been tallied. It
may take more or less hours than estimated to complete a project.
The
estimated number of hours and project fee serve two purposes.
1. It
gives the client an idea of the project’s cost.
2. It forms the basis for the deposit, which is one-half of
the estimated project cost.
How are estimated hours calculated?
Writing hours are based on the following activities:
• Gathering information from the client regarding the content of materials (does not include preliminary
consultation)
• Research
• Concept development
• Writing/re-writing
• Revisions
to content based on client’s feedback
Editing hours are based
on the following activities:
• Gathering information from
the client regarding the content of materials (does not include preliminary consultation)
• Editing/re-writing
• Revisions to content based on client’s feedback
Research
hours are based on the following activities:
• Discussions
with clients regarding the research parameters (does not include preliminary consultation)
• Research
Factors that affect estimated hours for writing and rewriting materials
The number of hours that it takes to complete a writing or rewriting project depends
on the amount of information that I receive from the client and the amount of research needed to write/re-write the material.
Content from client
If the client provides all of the information needed to write the material, then the estimated hours will be less
because I will only need to write the material.
Research for projects
If the client provides very little information that can be used to write the material,
then I will need to conduct research. Research might include gathering information about products or services, target
markets, and competitors.
The less information received, the more
research is required, and the greater the estimated hours.
Other
factors
Minimum charge
A minimum of one hour will be charged for projects.
Rush
delivery fee
A fee equal to 10% of the project cost will be added
to projects that require quick turnaround. The length and complexity of the project and the timeframe for completion
determine whether a rush delivery fee will be charged.
PAYMENT
METHODS
Cash, check, money orders, and credit cards are accepted.
For cash and check payments, credit card information will be required for debt collection purposes (if necessary).
